Horticulture Equipment Endowment at the University of the Fraser Valley

One half of proceeds from our annual spring plant sale is donated to the University Of the Fraser Valley to support an endowment for their horticulture program.

A visit in early 2016 allowed us to see their wonderful facilities as well as some of the much appreciated equipment that our PoCo Garden Club has allowed them to purchase! The group photo includes new and past executive members, who were delighted to meet  with Tom Baumann (Associate professor) and Sherri Magson, (Advancement officer, major gifts) UFV.

Here’s one of our BIG cheques!

The PoCo Garden gifted $950 to the UFV Horticulture Equipment Endowment in 2013

Pride of PoCo Garden Awards

The City of Port Coquitlam recognizes residents who beautify the city through their gardening and landscaping with the Pride of PoCo Garden Awards. Members of the PoCo Garden Club provide their horticulture expertise to assist with judging.

SHARE Christmas Program

The club raises funds internally every year for the SHARE Christmas Program to assist a local family in need.

A big warm Hi to PoCo Garden Club, My name is Fara Sepanlou and last month I came to your monthly gathering and I really enjoyed the energy and sense of strong community support on that evening and would like to be a part of that and join the Club.
Anyhow last fall we started a Food Forest and Permaculture Project in a Blueberry farm in the neighborhood and I would like to talk about the Project for five minutes in the next meeting if you give me the opportunity .This is a project that will benefit and educate the Community at every level and we are hoping to spread the Idea and get the Community fully involved in it with the help of the Garden Club.
So please let us know that if we can present our Project , briefly,in the next meeting.
    Thank you kindly
    Fara Sepanlou
