PoCo City Hall – Favourite Border

Back on March 24, 2010 we profiled some of our municipal horticultural attractions and, as I said then, one of my favourite borders in the city is on the south side of city hall, across from Leigh Square. One of its attractions is in the way that it changes through the seasons and always has something to offer. The tulips and Fritillaria imperialis have since faded but Alliums now carry the flame and the poppies await their turn. We’ll follow up with other photos over time to keep track of this border.

Jim Thorleifson

The main borders in front of city hall are doing the same.

The best city bed is the meridian island (?) at Shaughnessy just North of Lougheed Hyw. Year round it explodes with whimsy and colour. Although I agree the bed beside the bandshell is lovely too.
